Snowmelt Cleanup After 2006 Floods
After the 2006 snowmelt swelled the Big Thompson River, Allendale streets were littered with mud-caked branches, ruined drywall, and soggy insulation. The smell of damp wood and mildew hung thick in the April air, and homeowners faced weeks of stalled renovations if debris wasn’t cleared fast. With basements still drying out and insurance adjusters circling, every hour of delay risked mold growth or permit delays.
We rolled in with 20-yard containers and a two-man crew the morning after the floodwaters receded. Sorting storm debris from household waste on-site, we kept loads compliant with EPA guidelines while moving fast. Within two days, every participating Allendale block had clean curbs and dry workspaces—letting contractors restart framing without waiting on city pickup schedules.
They showed up before the mud even dried and hauled away three dumpsters’ worth so we could finally rebuild our kitchen.
